Hours after the world saw her sing her first international single on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," Charice's "Note to God" became one of iTunes and Amazon.com's bestsellers.
A check on Amazon.com showed that "Note to God" was No. 2 on its list of popular songs in terms of number of downloads, beating "Poker Face" and "Just Dance" by Lady GaGa and "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus. "Boom Boom Pow" by Black Eyed Peas remained the top choice of Amazon.com 's customers. Amazon.com is an online retailer of books, movies, music and games, among others.
On the other hand, Charice's single ranked fifth on iTunes' most popular songs. iTunes is also a popular online music vendor.
Destined to be classic
"Note to God" was composed and written by Grammy Award-winning Diane Warren and produced by legendary David Foster.
One of those who downloaded "Note to God" said the song "is destined to be classic" while another praised Charice's voice and her ability to "touch your soul."
"I must say that being a singer myself that Charice has a beautiful voice. But when there is an anointing like this, it is hard to miss.
The anointing makes the difference. There is a lot of people that can sing, but when Charice sings, it does something on the inside. I would encourage her to keep God first in her music and it will take her a long way," Pamela Thompson from North Carolina wrote.
Kreisz01 raved: "That's one powerful song! Saw the performance on Oprah! Whew! Very nice! Good job Charice!"
On Monday (US time), Charice unveiled her debut single on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," a performance that drew applause and cheers. "American Idol's" David Archuleta said he "was blown away" by Charice. Archuleta wrote on social media site Twitter: "I met her at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade but wasn't too familiar with her then. I saw her on Oprah and was blown away!"
Oprah show
In New York City, meantime, a few lucky fans got the chance to watch the Oprah episode with Charice herself. The Filipino singing sensation also watched the proud moment with friends and supporters at Nespresso Boutique on Madison Avenue in Manhattan.
When Charice's performance came on, a small crowd of mostly non-Filipinos cheered and applauded.
"Actually, hindi ako makapaniwala. Siyempre, may album [ako] sa Philippines and" hindi ako makapaniwala na lumabas agad [ang kanta ko] at international pa siya. Hindi ako mapaniwala hanggang sa lumabas 'yong album talaga," Charice said. Charice is still working on her first international album, which is scheduled to be released later this year.
